Plain answers to what people ask before, during and after a swap. The same words you see in the tooltips and the FAQ.
Why you can trust it
Legality, safety and what happens to your funds.
- Is GhostCross legal? The route runs on public DEX and bridge contracts, and we never hold funds beyond the minutes of a route. Rules differ by country, so check yours and read the terms.
- Why should I trust GhostCross? You see every hop, fee and network cost before you send, every step has a public transaction hash, and wallet mode lets you sign each hop yourself.
- Is it safe to swap a large amount?Your funds only pass through DEXes and bridges, never an exchange account that could freeze them. For large amounts, start with a small test swap or use wallet mode.
How it works
No account, no KYC, how routes are built and how we earn.
- How does it work without an account?Every swap gets its own tracking page. Bookmark it, or add an email and the link comes to your inbox. Nothing else is needed.
- Why is there no KYC?There is no account to verify. We only need a destination address, a refund address and, if you want, an email for the tracking link.
- How does GhostCross make money?A small route fee that is already inside the quote you see. Network costs go to the blockchains, not to us, and are shown on their own line.
- Ticket or wallet: which should I use?Ticket: send to one address and we run the route for you. Wallet: connect with WalletConnect and sign each hop yourself, so funds never touch us.
- How can one swap cross several networks? When no single pool connects two tokens, the route chains swaps and bridges. You see every hop, its network and its cost before you send.
- Which token should I swap to before cashing out?Pick the token and network your local exchange accepts, most often USDT on TRC20 or BTC. Check their deposit page before you choose the destination.
- What are DEXes and bridges?A DEX swaps tokens through a public smart contract instead of a company. A bridge moves value from one blockchain to another. Routes combine both.
What if…
Stuck swaps, slippage, network cost, refunds and mistakes.
- What if my swap looks stuck? Most routes finish in minutes, but a bridge can take longer on a busy network. Keep the progress page open. If a step passes its usual time, support is alerted.
- What is slippage?Slippage is how much the price can move while the swap runs. 1% is the usual safe setting.
- What is network cost? What the blockchain itself charges to move the funds, separate from the route fee. It is listed on its own line on the quote.
- What is WalletConnect for?Optional. It fills destination and refund, or lets you sign each hop in your wallet. It is not creating an account.
- What if I regret it mid-swap?Nothing happens before you send. After you send, the route has started. A return only happens to the refund address if the route fails.
- What happens if a swap fails? The route stops and the funds go to your refund address. Network costs already paid cannot be returned. The progress page shows the refund transaction.
- What if I send the wrong amount or token?A different amount is re-quoted or refunded. A wrong token or network may not be recoverable, so check both before you send.
- What is the refund address for?If the route fails, the amount returns here. It must be on the same network you send from.
- Why do you ask for an email? We send the tracking link. This is not a login.
- Why does the rate keep refreshing?Prices move every few seconds. The quote refreshes until you confirm, then the rate is held for a short window while your deposit arrives.
